Job Description

JOB TITLE: Machinist - Drills/Lathes
LOCATION: Riviera Beach FL
PAY RATE: Up to $28/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: 4/10 1st Shift

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Set up and operate various machine tools including lathes milling machines grinders and drill presses

  • Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements

  • Select and use appropriate cutting tools fixtures and materials to achieve precise results

  • Perform machining operations such as turning milling drilling and grinding to produce parts and components

  • Inspect and test finished parts to ensure compliance with quality and precision standards

  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment as needed

  • Maintain a clean organized workspace adhering to safety protocols and regulations

  • Collaborate with engineers technicians and other machinists to meet production goals and resolve technical issues

  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity

  • Fast-paced manufacturing setting with exposure to noise dust and machining hazards

  • Emphasis on teamwork safety quality and productivity

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or certificate in machining or related field preferred

  • 2 years of experience as a machinist or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program

  • Strong understanding of machining principles including geometry trigonometry and metallurgy

  • Proficiency with machine tools including CNC machines and familiarity with CAD/CAM software and programming (G-code M-code)

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination manual dexterity and attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

  • Knowledge of quality control procedures inspection techniques and lean manufacturing principles

  • Certification as a journeyman machinist or equivalent preferred

  • Requires standing walking lifting and frequent use of hand tools and machinery

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
