Role Summary
- To operate conventional lathe and milling machines for precision machining of components as per engineering drawings quality standards and production schedules ensuring safe work practices at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Machine Operation
- Set up and operate conventional lathes and milling machines as per job requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools speeds and feeds for different materials.
- 2. Quality Control
- Inspect machined components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers micrometers gauges and dial indicators.
- Ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
- Record inspection results and maintain proper documentation.
- 3. Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
- Keep the work area clean organized and free from hazards.
- 4. Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines including PPE usage and safe machine operation.
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- 5. Continuous Improvement
- Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Participate in training programs to upgrade skills.

- Reports To: Machine Shop Supervisor
Requirements:
- Education: ITI Turner / ITI Machinist OR completion of a full-term apprenticeship.
- Experience:
- ITI with apprenticeship completion can apply.
- 25 years of experience in conventional lathe and milling operations is preferred.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of machining principles cutting tools and material properties.
- Candidate can read and speak Kannada.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards.
- Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Willingness to work in all 3 shifts as required and 6 days office.
