Job Summary:
This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced primary care internal medicine setting. The LPN will perform various clinical tasks under the direction of an RN focusing on patient assessment treatment and collaboration within the healthcare team. The role requires flexibility adaptability and strong communication skills.
Location: Geneva New York United States
Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients
- Administering injections
- Performing EKGs
- Collecting nasopharyngeal swabs
- Taking blood pressure
- Performing ear flushes
- Providing patient care as directed by an RN
- Gathering and reporting patient data
- Carrying out physician orders
- Performing therapeutic procedures
- Assisting with patient activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in the state of New York
- BLS certification
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in rooming patients administering injections performing EKGs collecting nasopharyngeal swabs taking blood pressure and performing ear flushes
- Demonstrated competency in ambulatory and pediatric care
- Dependability and punctuality
- Adaptability and willingness to work with others
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments
- Experience with vents/trachs/PICC lines
- Two years of experience in direct patient care
Special Considerations:
- Floating to other primary care/family medicine/internal medicine locations is required.
- The position requires working in a fast-paced environment.
Scheduling:
- Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- No weekend work required.
