We are seeking an experienced Civil/Site Engineering Team Leader to oversee workflow staff development technical leadership and client management for our growing team. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise project management skills and people leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff developing future leaders ensuring quality control and fostering strong client relationships while driving the success of civil/site projects.
Key Responsibilities Workflow & Staff ManagementFacilitate staff sharing and resource allocation across teams.
Prepare monthly team revenue and staffing projections with a 3-month look-ahead.
Monitor revenue billings profitability and utilization on a monthly basis.
Identify hiring needs and participate in interviewing and onboarding.
Ensure staff receive appropriate training and advancement opportunities.
Collaborate with leadership and HR on personnel issues and performance reviews.
Approve team timesheets and expense reports.
Maintain positive team morale and engagement.
Conduct staff assessments set goals and lead performance reviews.
Mentor Design Engineers to advance into Project Manager or Senior Engineer roles.
Develop Project Managers to:
Prepare proposals establish fees and oversee project financials.
Manage all aspects of projects from kickoff to completion.
Build and maintain client relationships.
Delegate design tasks effectively.
Create and monitor individualized development plans for Project Managers.
Foster open communication and feedback within the team.
Direct the development and delivery of civil/site design projects.
Coordinate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Anticipate and resolve technical and project-related challenges.
Oversee proposals fee justifications interviews and contracts.
Ensure projects meet schedule financial and quality goals.
Track project performance profitability and billing.
Support other teams to achieve profitability targets.
Manage accounts receivable for team projects and assigned clients.
Implement and enforce quality processes.
Ensure proper review occurs at every project stage.
Leverage technical resources for quality control and problem solving.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Conduct client satisfaction checks and resolve concerns.
Oversee contract preparation and negotiations.
Partner with business development staff to identify new opportunities.
Pursue new work with existing and prospective clients.
Support sales and client development efforts including client meetings and presentations.
8 years of civil/site engineering experience.
Proven experience leading a team of at least 5 engineers and project managers.
Strong track record in delivering civil/site projects (technical and people management).
Experience managing client relationships and business development.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required - must obtain Indiana PE within 3 6 months of hire.
Strong leadership mentoring and staff development skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Solid project management and organizational skills.
Ability to balance technical oversight with business objectives.
Strategic thinker with a focus on profitability quality and client satisfaction.
