Job Description
Business Data Analyst
Only on W2
Must have: Microsoft Azure Data tools or Snowflake Technologies
This role supports data development and maintenance efforts of the Data & Analytics activities and initiatives in alignment with the Enterprise Data strategy policies and organizational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews analyzes and creates detailed documentation of business rules and data needs.
- Coordinates discussions with business/stakeholders and cross functional/technical teams to capture and review use cases requirements and another technical document. Ensure all business requirements are accurately reflected and accounted for (including data lineage and transformations)
- Collaborates with developers and architects to define and document the data solution to meet needs outlined in the business rules and needs.
- Responsible for ensuring business/stakeholder approval which passes audit scrutiny for data solutions delivered in a production state.
- Documents data ingestion transformation and consumption including workflows data models data classification and steps required to curate trusted data.
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation reflects the current state and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect proper state of data.
- Support the cloud data framework that aligns with the Enterprise Data Strategy policies and organizational goals.
- Ensures that the delivered data and processes fulfill the documented business rules and data needs.
- Ensure that all items follow company change management process.
- Participate in scrum backlog grooming refinement planning and review sessions.
- Presents documentation of business rules data needs technical documentation and data models.
- Champions department standards for documentation and ensures that all assigned projects meet compliance and can withstand audit scrutiny.
- Peer Reviews documentation of business rules data needs technical documentation and data models.
- Create data models based on the data solution decisions and conceptual models in collaboration with the data architect and developer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated Data Query Skills
- Competent in Microsoft Azure Data tools or Snowflake Technologies.
- Background and experience in Data Analysis Data Profiling Data Transformation and Data Reporting.
- Experience problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines
- Competent in Agile and Scrum processes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior knowledge of or willingness to learn healthcare and analytics industries.
