JOB SUMMARY The Gen 8 operator prepares operates and maintains custom cut stack and fold machine. Ensuring the quality of the final printed piece. The Gen 8 Operator is required to manage and oversee the operation of the machine under the supervision of the Lead Operator or Supervisor to ensure quality in the results the functioning of the machine and other quality assurance checks. Also may be asked to operate a Popp 7 or folder as needed. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interfaces with supervision and line employees to ensure product is produced efficiently within quality specifications. Operate machinery in efficient manner in accordance with company standards. Responsible for the set-up and follow through on product from start to finish according to specifications. Assist in training general workers and lower classification employees about operation of the equipment. Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs on the equipment as needed. Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards. Reads all information regarding specifications on work orders layouts and job tickets; checks proof to match job for content and accuracy. Operates control panel and monitors and/or adjusts configurations. Quality checks at all times to ensure accuracy. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery as needed. Other duties as assigned BASIC QUALIFICATIONS H.S. diploma or equivalent. Previous bindery experience on folders preferred but can be trainable as apprentice. Working knowledge of digital of programmable interface strongly preferred. Attention to detail Strong work ethic PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Normal no adverse or hazardous conditions. Warehouse and plant with exposure to dust noise and fumes. Walking and standing 100% on concrete flooring. Position requires grasping and utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger coordination and the utilization of color vision. Ability to look closely at printed material all shift. Lift up to 50 lbs; lift up to 100 lbs with assistance occasionally.
