JOB SUMMARY The role of the Scheduler is responsible for the overall scheduling of the pressroom bindery and lettershop operations ensuring that the scheduling cost targets and customer required lead position is on site in Eureka MO. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Monitors and adjusts press bindery and lettershop schedule to maintain efficient production.
- Analyses requested schedules to determine the physical requirements necessary to meet schedule delivery needs.
- Communicates effectively with other departments to plan and direct work activities and resources to ensure product is scheduled within estimated parameters.
- Communicates press check times to sales and coordinates schedules and crewing with pressroom supervisors.
- Maintains a current file of RFQs (Request for Schedule)
- Inputs scheduling dates into jobs database
- Notifies the Managers and internal customers of changes that could impact their department or job delivery
- Build tentative schedules at the request of the Sales or Production departments.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the scheduling arena.
- Adjusts and coordinates scheduling for preventative maintenance overhauls inspections and other shutdown periods.
- Implements training and process improvement actions.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Build develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of project.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum required experience is 2 years direct work experience scheduling web sheetfed and digital presses lettershop and bindery finishing preferably in a supervisory capacity
- Vocational/Technical/Business school or equivalent work experience. Some college preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS - Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment is essential.
- Can conform to shifting priorities and demands through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio percent draw and interpret graphs.
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently; flexible during times of change.
- Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
- Must be able to learn and understand new technologies.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Adept at conducting research into production-related issues and products.
