A leading private hospital group is seeking an experienced Theatre Unit Manager to take charge of a Day Theatre in Boksburg. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a post-qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science proven leadership ability and strong clinical expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to drive high standards of patient care and lead a specialised team within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure delivery of safe effective and high-quality nursing care in the Day Theatre
Monitor patient safety infection prevention and adherence to clinical protocols
Maintain compliance with SANC standards and all relevant healthcare legislation
Drive continuous improvement in theatre practices and patient outcomes
Lead mentor and develop a skilled nursing team within the unit
Facilitate training coaching and ongoing professional development of staff
Conduct performance management capacity building and succession planning
Foster a culture of accountability teamwork and excellence
Oversee daily theatre operations ensuring smooth coordination of procedures
Manage resources equipment and supplies to support theatre efficiency
Implement quality assurance processes and maintain accreditation standards
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient experience
Ensure compliance with professional ethical and organisational policies
Maintain accurate records and reporting for audits and regulatory requirements
Enforce adherence to health and safety legislation in the theatre environment
Support the implementation of evidence-based best practices in nursing care
Build strong relationships with doctors patients and hospital management
Participate in hospital committees and contribute to broader clinical strategies
Support communication and collaboration across departments for optimal service delivery
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification)
Post-graduate qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science (essential)
Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
Relevant experience in a Theatre environment (essential)
Strong clinical leadership and operational management experience
In-depth knowledge of nursing theory theatre practices and healthcare legislation
