Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse in Pre-Admission Nursing oversees and coordinates the nursing activities related to patient admissions before surgery or treatment. This role ensures thorough patient assessment preparation and education to optimize outcomes and enhance patient safety. The Charge Nurse leads the pre-admission nursing team manages workflow and serves as a liaison between patients families and clinical departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the pre-admission nursing unit.
Conduct or oversee comprehensive nursing assessments of patients scheduled for admission or surgery.
Ensure patients receive proper education about pre-procedural instructions medication management and postoperative care.
Review patient medical histories and collaborate with physicians to identify any potential risks or special
Facilitate communication and coordination between multidisciplinary teams including physicians anesthesiologists and surgical staff.
Assign duties and provide mentorship and support to nursing staff in the pre-admission unit.
Monitor compliance with hospital policies infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
Address patient concerns and provide emotional support to patients and their families during the pre-admission process.
