What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran
Woodard & Curran is seeking an Operations Compliance Specialist in Winter Springs FL. You will be responsible for the implementation modification and ongoing operations and technical support for the compliance systems utilized at the project site. These systems include but are not limited to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and HACH Water Information Management System (WIMS). You will work with project management and site operations staff to ensure successful utilization of compliance systems to confirm work is completed efficiently effectively and in compliance with all applicable site permits. You will report to the Project Manager and will serve as a liaison between our Operations and Engineering groups and work to ensure compliance in all areas related to the Winter Springs FL Project.

Typical responsibilities include:

    • CMMS system management Ensures all laboratory on line instrumentation and sampling equipment assets are identified and tracked in the system so capital planning and maintenance/asset management activities can be scheduled and documented. Identifies and aids in preventative and routine maintenance tasks of assigned equipment. This includes work order management of all required sampling activities.
    • HACH WIMS Works with staff to ensure compliance and process control testing / daily data collection is completed and entered the systems for subsequent use in project compliance and process control reporting and monitoring.
    • Implements and manages a Laboratory QA/QC program to align with state and federal regulatory compliance standards specific to the Winter Springs water and wastewater facilities.
    • Drafts required SOPs and JSAs pertinent to the Laboratory QA/QC program to include sampling sample storage and delivery and required maintenance with benchtop analytical equipment and on-line process control monitoring equipment.
    • Collaborates with Project Management client and client representative (engineer) to support ongoing work. Supports the project by aiding in the operation of the Water Wastewater Treatment Facilities specific to process control analytics and permit requirements.
    • Supports preparation and review of all regulatory reports.
    • Responsible for the inspections and training with the Spill Prevention Program sampling and inspections with the Pretreatment Program and Safety Program.
    • Responsible for ensuring necessary sampling/testing is being performed correctly and on time.
    • Provides a monthly technical summary to the Project Manager for inclusion in the Project Managers monthly operating report (MOR) to the client.

What will you need to succeed

    • B.S. in a related field such as Civil Chemical Environmental Engineering and/or Environmental Science
    • 5-7 years relevant industry experience.
    • Possess and maintain as a minimum a valid water wastewater treatment plant operators license issued by the state of Florida and/or receive a license within the first year of employment.
    • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
    • Proficiency with computers including an ability to work with SCADA Microsoft Word Excel and other site-specific systems.
    • Knowledge or understanding of CMMS systems KPI systems and/or utility management systems.
    • Possess a valid Florida drivers license.
    • Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with ability to write clear concise and thorough environmental reports
    • Ability to read interpret and apply instructions drawings and specifications for work assigned.
    • Working knowledge of the principles procedures methods equipment materials and tools employed in the operations and maintenance of Water and Wastewater Treatment systems.
    • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
$34 - $38 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
