What Youll Experience:

  • 15-week immersive training programled by expert instructors
  • 440 hours of hands-on learningthrough five 3-week rotations:
    • 2 weeks in our state-of-the-art Cleveland OH training center
    • 1 week of on-the-job training at a sponsored Ohio Cat shop
  • Learn todiagnose troubleshoot and repairCaterpillar engines and power generation systems
  • Gain in-depth knowledge ofgenerator components systems and service techniques

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Should possess a passion and a strong desire to become a Caterpillar Technician.
  • Graduation from an accredited technical school with an emphasis on diesel engines and/or power equipment strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of work experience and familiarity with diesel engines and power generators will be preferred.

KEYCOMPETENCIES:

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions work on a team or individually and allocate the appropriate time for daily requirements.
  • Must have the desire and ability to put Safety first and adhere to all company safety guidelines rules and requirements.
  • Strong organizational computer customer service and verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be self-confident persistent open to change disciplined and resilient.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand walk climb or balance; stoop kneel and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
