Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Imager (PT Days)

How youll contribute

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a part time Nuclear Medicine Tech to predominately work two to three 8-hour day shifts per week Monday Friday. Shift time varies based on the needs of the patients (as early as 6am start). The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnostic exams on inpatients outpatients and Emergency room patients.

A nuclear medicine tech who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physicians orders. Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedures. Enters transmits and reports exam results.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas including infection control protocols for staff and patient safety.
  • Assures regulatory compliance in all areas of expertise and responsibility.

What were looking for

  • Experience: Previous experience in nuclear medicine is required.
  • License: ARRT (NM) or NMTCB required.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire (non-AHA BLS certification valid only from date of hire for 6 months or up until the date of expiration not to exceed 6 months).
