The Nurse Practitioner combines clinical expertise with a holistic approach to promote health prevent illness and support the overall well-being of the campus population. The Nurse Practitioner independently evaluates diagnoses and treats patients while collaborating with physicians and other health professionals as addition to clinical care this position plays a key role in health education wellness initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory and university health policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments including physical exams diagnostic testing and medical histories.
• Diagnose treat and manage acute and chronic illnesses injuries and mental health concerns within the scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications therapies and referrals as appropriate under state licensure and university protocols.
• Provide urgent care services and triage for students and employees presenting with health concerns.
• Maintain accurate confidential and timely electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA and university policies.
• Develop and deliver health education programs and workshops focused on prevention wellness and self-care.
• Counsel students and employees on nutrition stress management sexual health substance use and lifestyle behaviors.
• Partner with Student Affairs Counseling Services Athletics Disability Services and other campus departments to support holistic student care.
• Provide consultation on public health issues including immunizations infectious disease control and campus safety protocols.

Education

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of State.
• Current DEA registration (if applicable).
• BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum 35 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
