This position is 2 days per week. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education Building PrincipalESSENTIAL FUNCTION:A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is a health/educational professional assistant who has completed a two-year technical assistance program has successfully completed the National Certification Examination for COTAs and is currently certified for practice by the National Board for certification in Occupational Therapy. Individual state certification is required. The COTA works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational DUTIES:Adhere to professional ethical and legal standards of communication and/or participation in students education of direct and/or parent communication regarding students reporting of students progress towards attaining individualized goals and objectives/benchmarks. Regular reporting to the supervising OTR regarding the documentation of student progress through progress monitoring and observation data. Develop and implement intervention strategies and direct teachers staff and/or parents to use adaptive equipment adaptive equipment strategies and/or exercise programs which enable students to function within the academic and school environment. Adheres to all Federal state and district regulations and other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
