The Software Location Quality team undertakes special projects for the Sensing and Connectivity groups at Apple. These projects have ranged from developing data crowdsourcing systems to prototyping apps & features for future OS releases. We are looking for an engineer with a deep understanding of GNSS / Cellular location technologies and the possibilities such technologies hold for improved positioning and fitness use-cases.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
5 years of solid understanding of GNSS / Cellular / WiFi / Bluetooth / NFC and related Connectivity / RF technologies
5 years in coding with Python code or related programming experience
Deep understanding of QA methodologies and automation strategy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to thrive in a reciprocal environment
Excellent knowledge of chipset validation lifecycle testing methodologies and testing tools
Knowledge of GNSS / Cellular location simulations required for functional & performance validation
Experience in debugging GNSS logs to triage and root-cause issues with development of custom analysis scripts considered a plus
Ability to drive cross-functional communications and understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained
Experience in design and development of automated test harnesses & data analysis tooling
Prior experience of working in fast-paced agile environment with flexibility to pivot easily to support new user requirements
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and novel genAI techniques that can be leveraged for automation and analysis
