The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business comprises the universitys three accredited business schools: The Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. The College delivers undergraduate graduate and professional business programs creating a collaborative comprehensive business management program that preserves the excellence of all three schools while uniting the faculty and students. Our Team

The SC Johnson College of Business Career Management Center prepares undergraduate and graduate students across our three schools for a competitive job market with advising workshops networking and access to appropriate tools/resources.

The Career Management Center at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business plays a pivotal role in helping students and alumni achieve their career goals by providing comprehensive resources personalized support and invaluable networking opportunities. This role supports the students at the Nolan School of Hotel Administration and the Dyson School of Applied Economics which is currently ranked number 2 in Poets and Quants rankings. It also supports the students of the Johnson and Dyson Masters of Professional Studies students and some industry verticals of the Executive Masters of Business Administration candidates. Combined the schools total nearly 2000 students who excel in industries such as real estate finance consulting technology healthcare and data-driven roles.

The Career Associate for Recruiting & Employer Relations Opportunity

The Career Associate for Recruiting and Employer Relations is responsible for overseeing recruiting operations at the Nolan School of Hotel Administration and Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management as well as the Specialty Masters students at the SC Johnson College of Business ensuring high-quality service and seamless coordination with employer relationship managers across the universitys colleges and schools. This role involves facilitating employer activities and providing a high-standard of customer service and the planning and execution of 2 industry-specific career fairs and 2-3 professional career events annually.

The Career Associate will participate in the collaboration of all Cornell employer relationship managers to streamline employer engagement standardize practices and provide assistance with the onboarding and training for new recruiting staff within Cornells career services network. Additionally this position requires becoming a subject matter expert in key systems of the recruitment platform (e.g. Handshake) the CRM system (Salesforce) and other systems utilized by this department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in career services event management sales marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Experience leading and facilitating collaboration among various stakeholders in a professional setting.
  • High level of interpersonal skills including experience maintain positive relationships with various constituencies such as students employers other staff and the public.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently as a member of a team under pressure and in a complex environment.
  • Adept at handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in computer software and web application skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior recruiting experience or experience in employer engagement in a higher education setting.
  • Familiarity with online recruitment systems preferred especially Handshake and client relationships management systems.
  • Experience building and managing internal relationships and with external partners.
  • Experience managing large-scale events.
  • Knowledge of Cornell especially Cornell colleges/schools and majors.
  • 4 years in career services events management sales marketing or employer relations.

This is a full-time position based in Ithaca NY and will provide hybrid work flexibility.
