BURNING MACHINE OPERATOR

(Flame Cutting)

1st Shift

Pennsylvania Steel Company

10th Arch Street

Carnegie PA

Pennsylvania Steel is a privately held metals distribution company with over 50 years in business; with 13 physical locations across the East Southeast Northeast and Midwestern parts of the United States. Its corporate headquarters are in Bensalem Pennsylvania.

Job Overview:

Pennsylvania Steel Company in Carnegie PA is looking to hire for the flame/plasma cutting burn table opportunity.

This person will be flame-cutting carbon steel steel alloys and or stainless-steel plates with varied thicknesses depending on the machines capabilities and specifications.

This position will report to the Branch Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities:

Read and follow the instructions on the work order and process (burn) material to the specifications laid out by the customer.

Follow all safety and quality guidelines as laid out by Pennsylvania Steel and the PA Steel Safety Manual as well as the Employee Handbook.

Follow all quality measures relating to the branchs quality instructions.

Follow all packaging instructions laid out by customer specifications or as instructed by PA Steel supervision.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • An understanding of and ability to operate material handling equipment such as a forklift and overhead crane
  • Must be computer literate
  • Able to read or understand drawings
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and a mechanical aptitude like changing out consumables
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to practice all PA Steel outlined safety guidelines

Benefits

Compensation & Benefits:

This role pays an Hourly Rate of $21.00/hr. - $23.00/hr. based on experience plus Full Benefits
