Job Description
The person in this position works under the supervision and direction of the building administrator and is responsible for teaching 7th grade students in the Math content area. This individual must work cooperatively with other members of the staff to provide students optimal learning opportunities as well as a well-planned organized instructional program in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications Required
- Current Oregon Elementary Teaching License.
- Demonstrated positive classroom management skills and student-centered instructional skills;
- Knowledge and skills in instruction/learning methods and techniques;
- Knowledge and application of skills in teaching Common Core aligned Math curriculum and using assessment data;
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues support staff administrators students parents and patrons;
- Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators;
- Ability to perform computer skills and incorporate the use of technology in the 7th grade classroom;
- Responsibility to know understand and adhere to school rules and District policies;
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current first aid/CPR card.
Qualifications Desired
- Experience in or ability to teach in the following area: 7th grade Math
- Experience teaching with Google Classroom
- Experience with iReady/Ready
- Experience in or ability to teach in a middle school;
- Knowledge of student portfolios work samples and benchmark activities to monitor student learning growth and meet Common Core Standards;
- Collaborative/team building skills;
- Knowledge of Special Education;
- Working knowledge of Basic Spanish.
