Summary:
The Supervisor for Instructional Technology and Innovation is a key member of the Department of Teaching Learning and Leadership reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. This role provides strategic leadership to advance 21st-century learning by guiding instructional technology integration expanding learner access to written and digital resources and promoting innovative practices grounded in research.
Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the Department of Teaching Learning and Leadership and the Department of Information Technology the Supervisor ensures that technology and innovation are seamlessly embedded into the FCPS curriculum. The Supervisor also sources designs and delivers professional learning for faculty and staff to support the effective and consistent use of technology in the classroom.
This position helps to provide leadership to Instructional Technology Coaches (ITCs) who are jointly evaluated by the Supervisor and their building principals.
Qualifications:
- Virginia postgraduate professional teaching license
- Masters Degree in curriculum and instruction administration and supervision or related field
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in a K-12 school
- Administrative or supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working with all categories of employees and the public
- Extensive knowledge of instructional technology curriculum and tools computer science standards and instructional coaching
Essential Duties
Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
- Researches and maintains current knowledge of innovative and future trends in PK-12 instructional practice.
- Coordinates and leads the implementation and support of all technology integration practices and software initiatives across the division including the creation and management of teams and structured processes to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Leads the development and expansion of all K12 online learning programs approved by the division.
- Oversees the evaluation of software and technology tools to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with instructional goals.
- Provides professional development to expand faculty and staff capacity in innovation instructional technology integration digital literacy and 21st-century learning skills.
- Directly oversees the development evaluation and training of ITCs coordinating their work through regular collaboration with school administrators to ensure technology support services and programs are efficiently integrated.
- Serves as a liaison to internal and external teams and organizations to refine existing technological initiatives and introduce new solutions.
- Collaborates with the Departments of Information Technology and Teaching Learning and Leadership to identify materials equipment and resources that support innovation instructional technology and information literacy anticipating projected needs and growth.
- Partners with the Department of Assessment and Accountability to analyze division-level survey data and develop clear actionable reports using advanced data visualization techniques.
- Collects monitors and regularly reports on key performance metrics for instructional technology resources to anticipate professional development training and support needs for faculty staff and students.
- Openly collaborates with Content Area Coordinators (CACs) to ensure that current and innovative instructional technology methodologies and best practices are embedded and supported across the K12 curriculum.
- Provides leadership for curriculum writing initiatives that promote digital literacy and technology skills.
- Provides instructional technology support to all division departments and schools as needed.

The salary range is $82805-$136357
