Warehousing and Logistics Lead

The Opportunity

The Warehousing and Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations ensuring activities are carried out safely efficiently and cost-effectively. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement across the function.

The Lead manages a team of warehousing and logistics personnel and is accountable for their performance output and alignment with operational goals.

Whats involved

  • Lead and support a high-performing warehousing and logistics team
  • Ensure a safe secure and compliant working environment
  • Develop and enforce clear policies procedures and documented practices
  • Maintain team capability through training development and succession planning
  • Oversee all warehousing functions including receipt storage distribution and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure goods are processed inspected and recorded accurately and in a timely manner
  • Deliver excellent customer service through timely order fulfilment and clear communication
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing operational risks
  • Operate a Just In Time Warehouse Management System

Youll need

  • 7 years relevant Supply Chain Warehousing and logistics experience within a shipbuilding/sustainment engineering manufacturing or Defence organisation
  • Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment
  • Strong leader and coach with excellent communication interpersonal and people management skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Forklift License
