Join IDEXX as an Incoming Quality Assurance Inspector and become a key player in safeguarding the quality of our materials and components. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple facilities in Portland Westbrook and Scarborough ensuring that mechanical electrical chemical and biological materials meet our rigorous standards. What You Will Be Doing
Conduct visual mechanical and functional inspections analysis and testing of incoming materials to ensure compliance with company specifications and industry standards.
Utilize specialized instruments and measurement tools to evaluate a wide range of components and raw materials.
Complete and maintain accurate documentation including inspection records data entry and reports for management.
Support audits surveys and certification processes by collecting and providing relevant data.
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); recommend and implement process improvements.
Handle hazardous materials with care adhering to special handling requirements.
Travel between IDEXX facilities in Portland Westbrook and Scarborough to perform inspections as needed.
What You Need to Succeed
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in quality assurance or inspection is beneficial.
Skills & Abilities
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings specifications and detailed instructions.
Proficient in operating complex measurement instruments and selecting appropriate inspection methods.
Excellent documentation and communication skills both written and verbal.
Solid understanding of industry-standard sampling plans and inspection protocols.
Basic math proficiency including fractions decimals percentages and graph interpretation.
Skilled in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to stand sit reach and perform repetitive bench work for extended periods.
Visual acuity including close vision color differentiation depth perception and focus adjustment.
Must wear personal protective equipment including steel-toe footwear.
Work may occur in warehouse or laboratory environments with exposure to biohazard materials.
Work Style
Semi-skilled role with room for judgment and creativity within established procedures.
