Job Description
Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - OB/GYN
Summary: Join a vibrant healthcare community in beautiful Colorado Springs CO! This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside esteemed Gynecological Oncologists at two leading hospitals. As a Nurse Practitioner you will be an integral part of a dedicated team providing comprehensive care for gynecological oncology patients. Your responsibilities will include consulting on surgeries participating in treatment decisions and conducting pelvic exams. The practice offers continuous onsite APP support ensuring high-quality patient care with a supportive environment that encourages professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and emergency care for gynecological oncology patients.
- Consult on surgeries and assist the internal GYN oncologist during procedures.
- Perform pelvic exams pap smears and simple biopsies.
- Round on patients in the hospital and manage emergency department consults.
- Triage problem visits and manage follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC).
Qualifications:
- Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC AANP or NCC).
- Active Colorado License (Highly Preferred).
- Current BLS certification (AHA).
- Current DEA registration.
- Gynecology experience is required.
- Oncology and surgical experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexibility with scheduling.
- Clean malpractice and background check.
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Colorado.
- Current DEA and BLS certifications.
