Our Merchant Data Hub (MDH) team is on a mission to build the most reliable fast and scalable platform for delivering merchant data across the globe. By aggregating knowledge from multiple sources and delivering it through robust APIs MDH empowers teams to focus on creating value without worrying about the complexities of data ingestion and delivery.

Were now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this talented and highly impactful team. This is a unique opportunity to shape a cornerstone of our platform guiding the delivery of merchant data that underpins customer experiences across both DoorDash and Wolt. Youll work alongside skilled engineers product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define the vision foster technical excellence and ensure we continue delivering merchant data reliably quickly and at scale.

What youll be doing

As the Engineering Manager for the Merchant Data Hub team youll lead the development of one of our most critical data-serving systems. This isnt a typical backend platform team tucked away in a silo - MDH operates in a dynamic fast-changing environment where your work is both highly impactful and visible. Youll combine technical leadership with people management ensuring your team delivers high-quality merchant data APIs at scale while maintaining a strong engineering culture. Your work will balance business impact with engineering excellence enabling product teams to move faster with reliable well-structured merchant data.

Day-to-day in this role youll:

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team fostering growth collaboration and technical excellence.
• Define and communicate the MDH vision and roadmap in partnership with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across both companies to identify shared needs reduce duplicate work and integrate best practices.
• Ensure timely reliable delivery of merchant data services balancing new feature development with system stability scalability and technical debt management.
• Oversee technical architecture decisions for MDH ensuring alignment with broader engineering strategies.
• Manage project execution ensuring goals are met risks are mitigated and stakeholders are informed.
• Build a safe inclusive and high-trust team environment that encourages open communication and innovation.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams ideally in a data platform backend or distributed systems domain.
• Strong technical background with the ability to engage in architectural discussions and guide complex technical decisions.
• Experience balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability scalability and system reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a track record of working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• A people-first leadership style that fosters growth inclusion and a strong engineering culture.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced evolving environment and able to adapt priorities as business needs change.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with large-scale API design and data-serving systems.
• Familiarity with technologies in our stack such as gRPC GraphQL-like APIs or event-driven architectures.
• Background in working with eventual consistency models or multi-source data aggregation.
