Libraries and Archives seeks a music librarian to join the Music Service team.
Your subject matter expertise in music and data processing will go toward acquiring and cataloguing digital musical selections in response to CBC/Radio-Canadas content production needs in terms of both driving content discoverability and meeting regulatory requirements.
You will also assist with musical content and researching background sounds. Additionally you will help devise and/or amend the rules standards and methods affecting cataloguing and related systems and ensure consistent adherence to them.
Please note this is a full time temporary position.
Your profile:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in music or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years experience performing similar or related duties
Skills:
Knowledge of cataloguing standards; able to read sheet music
In-depth knowledge of multiple music genres
Knowledge of VML databases is an asset
Keen interest in research and client service
Interest in new technologies
Proficiency with Google Suite
Very good knowledge of French (language of work)
