Job Description

Headways mission is a big one to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. Weve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition but the majority of providers dont accept insurance making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice.

Headway was founded in 2019. Since then weve grown into a diverse national network of over 60000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. Were a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz) Accel GV (formerly Google Ventures) Spark Capital Thrive Capital Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.

About the role:

At Headway were building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access. To do this we need to create products that work seamlessly for both patients seeking care and providers delivering it. Were looking for Staff Product Managers with a background in AI who get excited about a high degree of ownership to join the team as we evolve the product portfolio on both the Patient and Provider side of our these roles youll use AI data and thoughtful UX to streamline processes surface the right information at the right time and design intuitive workflows for all of our customers.

What youll do at Headway:

  • Build and scale AI-powered tools that streamline workflows from surfacing insights to automating reviews enabling providers and internal teams to focus on care.
  • Drive patient-facing search discovery and ranking experiences that help patients quickly and confidently find the right provider.
  • Design provider-facing product experiences that simplify complex requirements (like insurance programs) while keeping the experience intuitive and empathetic.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering Data Ops Clinical and other cross-functional partners to learn quickly and ship quickly.
  • Deeply understand and embody the voice of both patients and providers in everything we build.

Youll be great for this role if you:

  • Bring 1 100 product experience: You have 5 years of experience improving iterating and scaling productswhether its consumer search and ranking systems or LLMs designed to help end users achieve faster velocity in their workflows without sacrificing quality.
  • Balance data and UX: Youve worked on products that combine technical depth (AI/ML pipelines search or personalization) with human-centered design and you can bring deep empathy to both patient and provider experiences.
  • Data and results driven: You are a master at digging into data prioritizing initiatives defining clear goals running toward them & bringing your team along the way.
  • Thrive in ambiguity: You love tackling ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment with an optimistic and energizing attitude.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base pay range for this position is $215900 - $254000 based on a variety of factors including qualifications experience and geographic addition to base salary this role may be eligible for performance-based variable compensation and an equity grant depending on the position and level.
