This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GMs Global Technical Center in Warren Michigan three times per week at a minimum.
The Role:
This new position within GM University will work directly with our Technical Learning University (TLU). TLU brings GMs developing technologies upskilling and reskilling of the manufacturing workforce under one roof. Founded in 2017 its mission is to improve the technical ability of GM skilled trades workers and salaried manufacturing engineers at the Global Technical Center campus in Warren Michigan in a safe and focused learning environment. Since its inception TLU has trained thousands of GM employees. Both salaried and hourly programs are designed to allow students to continue to perform their day-to-day work while participating in a series of Monday-Friday training periods at TLU as well as other training modalities.
The Learning Program Manager is a critical role aimed at fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the manufacturing space. This individual strategizes and consults with leaders and key business partners supporting manufacturing employees to enable a learning culture that delivers strategic value in support of GMs business objectives. They will seek to understand performance gaps and identify solutions that leverage both the Technical Learning Universitys offerings and the broader Global Learning and Development catalogue. Once solutioned the Learning Program Manager will serve as the Single Point of Contact between the business learning advocates/leaders and the central learning and development team to track that solution from design & development through to delivery. Once in production the Learning Program Manager will measure the success of the program to determine if objectives are being met directing modifications if necessary.
