POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern Graphic Design will work closely with the Art Director and the Marketing and Communications team to produce graphic design content to support USA Lacrosses marketing and social media initiatives. This role will be eligible for college credit.
USA Lacrosse is looking for a talented and enthusiastic student aspiring to enter the graphic design industry. This unpaid internship will allow you to learn about sports marketing graphic design best practices and how to collaborate with multiples departments. You will gain professional experience while working in a fast-paced hands-on environment that will help you be successful in your future career.
A Typical Day Looks Like
- Assists in the creation of visual assets for both digital and print use including social media graphics flyers email templates and event materials.
- Supports the design team by updating existing creative templates and making revisions to in-progress projects.
- Collaborates with the Art Director and marketing team to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and visual consistency across all materials.
- Organizes and manages design files using established file naming conventions and internal tools.
- Participates in brainstorming sessions and team meetings to contribute creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives.
- Stays current on design trends and techniques to bring a fresh innovative approach and perspective to projects.
- Provides general support on design-related tasks as needed including production prep and asset resizing.
Is This You
- Actively pursuing a college degree preferably in graphic design marketing or related field.
- Ability to dedicate 15 to 30 hours per week from September through December 2025.
- Demonstrated passion for visual storytelling branding and marketing design.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of basic design principles including layout color and typography.
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and work within existing templates while also contributing fresh ideas.
- Familiarity with designing for both print and digital platforms is preferred.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and contribute to its promotion through creative work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to accept and apply feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments meet deadlines and stay organized.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced dynamic cross-functional team working toward a common goal.
- Flexibility with your work schedule including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.
- Must live/go to school within commutable distance from USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks MD.

Expected Hours of Work
This internship will begin in September and end in December (before the holiday break). The Intern Graphic Design will be required to work between 15 and 30 hours per week (hours will vary each week based on USA Lacrosse event schedule) Monday through Friday with flexible hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm. There may be occasional requirements for longer hours during the week and/or on weekends based on events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and will work from the headquarters office in Sparks MD with the flexibility to work from home (remote) as well.
