Business Analyst - Revenue (Fixed term / Secondment until May 2026)

Were looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our Customer Revenue Billing Teama team at the heart of transforming how we deliver innovative user-focused billing this role youll be instrumental in driving forward enhancements to our systems particularly through hands-on engagement with cloud updates in our CCS platform.

Your knowledge of finance data and process improvement will directly impact how our systems serve the business and our people. Its a chance to work on meaningful improvements collaborate with skilled professionals from across Scottish Water and develop your own expertise in a progressive supportive environment. Youll play a key role in supporting User Acceptance Testing for our cloud updates. Working closely with stakeholders and IT youll help define test criteria create test cases and coordinate sessionsdocumenting any issues and helping to ensure a smooth financial operations youll bring your skills in ledger reconciliations and billing to ensure accuracy and integrity in CCS processes investigating discrepancies and proposing corrective actions where needed.

A big part of your day will involve identifying opportunities to improve and automate business processes. Youll analyse workflows design technical and procedural enhancements and deliver solutions that align with our strategic goals. Acting as a crucial link between our business teams IT and project leads youll ensure everyones requirements are clearly documented and understood. Your ability to explain complex concepts to different audiences will be invaluable as will your support with training and user guidance.

Quality assurance is also key. Youll monitor the progress of UAT track results and risks and follow up on the impact of improvements post-implementation to ensure we continue delivering value.

To thrive in this role youll bring solid financial acumen particularly around accounting practices reconciliations and controls. Youll need to be confident working with dataable to hit the ground running even when unfamiliar with specific datasets. Youll have advanced Excel skills and ideally some experience with Power BI and Power Automate.

Your analytical mindset will allow you to break down problems pinpoint root causes and communicate solutions clearly. Youll be highly organised capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes. Youll also be someone who enjoys working with others to bring about changecollaborative inquisitive and keen to keep learning.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is a sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership. Youll take responsibility seek out improvements and always strive to make processes more effective.

The not-so-small print

This role will be a Grade 6. If youre new to Scottish Water youll join us on a starting salary of 33560. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of 44140.

This role is a Fixed term / Secondment opportunity until May 2026.
