Reporting to the Community and Volunteer Engagement Manager the Community Engagement Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and developing meaningful partnerships between The Mustard Seed programs and external organizations. This position will work with internal programs to identify needs and build partnerships to meet those needs. They will also speak publicly and educate a diverse range of groups to promote education and awareness to the wider public about The Mustard Seed. They will participate in programs which are essential to the alleviation of poverty and homelessness and build healthy relationships between stakeholders in The Mustard Seeds diverse community.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify initiate and cultivate partnerships with community organizations businesses schools churches and civic groups to advance the organizations mission and support the internal programs.
- Maintain ongoing communication with partners to ensure mutual benefit alignment of goals and long-term collaboration.
- Represent The Mustard Seed at community events meetings and networking opportunities presenting programs and initiatives to diverse audiences.
- Speak publicly about The Mustard Seed and its programs
- Work with internal teams to integrate partner resources into programs events and initiatives.
- Plan and execute community engagement events workshops and information sessions in partnership with external stakeholders.
- Engage with community to understand needs gaps and opportunities for collaborative action.
- Work in a team environment to collaborate on new initiatives and projects to increaseawareness around issues of poverty and homelessness for staff volunteers and the public
- Track statistical information and provide thorough analysis and reports as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Social Services degree or Humanities degree and/or experience working within the culture of the inner city and/or with people experiencing poverty or homelessness
- Two years of related experience working with communities that are affected by poverty andhomelessness considered an asset
- Demonstrated relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and build partnership effectively
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with teammates
- A demonstrated passion to be involved in ending homelessness in Alberta
- Public speaking and educating experience
- Excellent administrative time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated multitasking and flexibility skills
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of mental illness and addictions is an asset
- Navigating interactions with challenging clients who may exhibit unpredictable behavior including swearing anger and the possibility of becoming aggressive
WORKING CONDITIONS
- A moderate level of physical fitness is necessary for leading outdoor neighborhood walks
- High mental effort required to preemptively identify and assess conflict problem solve maintain healthy boundaries and provide empathetic support for people facing extreme personal struggles
- The position will require ongoing compassionate care frequent manual labor conflict resolution and organizational ability
- Access to a reliable vehicle for occasional offsite meetings and presentations (including occasional trips to Calgary)
- Drivers Abstract Vulnerable Sector Check and Employment Security Check is required
- As The Mustard Seed is a Christian ministry we require our employees to be in agreement and to sign our statement of faith
- Participate in all staff training (e.g. First Aid SafeTALK Nonviolence Crisis Intervention Naloxone Training) and attend monthly general meetings and support meetings with supervisor

This position requires the use of a company vehicle and/or personal vehicle for company use. The candidate must have a valid drivers licence maintain $2M Vehicle Liability Insurance on the personal vehicle being used and will need to consent to a drivers abstract request.
