The Job:

As a Costing Technician youll be part of our SEF Engineering Fasteners team working as an onsite employee. This position ensures the accurate valuation and MRP planning for products manufactured by Decorah Operations. Youll get to:

• Analyzes cost estimates and determines the appropriate methods necessary to provide Decorah Operations with manufacturing set-up run and finishing detail.
• Reviews all correspondence submitted with new orders and equipment required to manufacture the product.
• Identifies machine speeds & set-up times that accurately reflect machine capabilities & production runs within shop floor requirements.
• Verifies raw material diameters and coatings relative to equipment draw and heading ability.
• Verifies supplier selection ensuring quotes and price lists are accurate and valid.
• Seeks to resolve all exceptions and/or clarifications necessary to progress with the design and manufacturing of the product
• Reviews data with other departments and documents all required changes including: equipment selection speed & set-up raw material & components lot control & PPAP/testing requirements supplier & quotes.
• Works cross functionally within the plant with an emphasis on technical skills.
• Works cooperatively to meet operational objectives and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Follows company safety rules and OSHA regulations; emphasis on IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
• Must be available to work overtime as needed.

• Minimum education of associates degree (or equivalent work experience in related field to be determined by management) including High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient analytical skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently using initiative and sound judgment while under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong basic math skills computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Thorough knowledge of MRP systems fasteners manufacturing & specs preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints familiarity with drafting principles geometric dimensioning and tolerances is preferred.
