POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor of Transportation and Logistics will direct all activities for long haul over the road drivers and 3rd party carrier partners who deliver products to our customers. The core responsibilities of this role will include supervising all activity of a fleet of trucks administrative staff and staying up to date on all regulatory requirements. This position will also support strategic direction by making business strategy recommendations and implementing strategic initiatives.

Manage Fleet
- Comply with all federal state and local agencies such as driver qualification files HOS requirements accident register and investigations and random drug testing requirements.
- Monitor key performance metrics and utilize results for continuous improvement that leads to better customer experience.
- Maintain fleet licensing and registration requirements for company owned vehicles.
- Coordinate all preventative maintenance and repairs on company owned equipment.
- Create loads of all outbound products delivered by utilizing company drivers or 3rd party brokers. Coordinate international shipments through customs as required.
- Negotiate third party broker loads throughout the U.S. and Canada. Negotiate backhaul rates. Calculate brokered load cost and ensure backhaul revenue invoices are created and accurate.
- Dispatch drivers and utilize systems ensuring effective utilization and driver compliance on all company driver loads.
- Calculate driver payroll and all supporting documents to ensure accurate driver pay and driver safety incentive bonus data.
- Provide monthly miles driven and all requested reporting regarding fleet cost as needed to support reporting and taxing requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in business administration transportation management or similar required.
- 5 years of over the road transportation management experience required. 7 years of experience preferred.
Required Licenses
Skills Abilities and Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of FMCSA and DOT compliance.
- Strong computer skills especially MS Excel and dispatch or TMS systems.
- Ability to communicate well both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to present data effectively.
- Ability to resolve problems quickly and handle daily changes to driver schedules and capacity issues.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required; up to 10%.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervisor: Schedules oversees and reviews the work of direct reports.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions including heat noise vibration and hazards from a production-based environment.
