Job Description

Overview

We are designing the grid of the future!

As a Senior Conventional Thermal Generation Engineer at EPE you will lead the design integration commissioning troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems for conventional thermal assetsgas turbines reciprocating (RICE) engine-generator sets and their balance of plant (BOP). Youll deliver high-quality consulting services for simple/combined-cycle cogeneration (CHP) and reciprocating engine plants while advancing EPEs internal knowledge base and best practices.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Develop one-lines load lists cable schedules grounding and protection diagrams; design power distribution control and protection schemes.
  • Selecting and specifying appropriate electrical equipment such as transformers switchgear motors and instrumentation ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee installation FAT/SAT start-up and troubleshooting of electrical systems for turbine and engine plants.
  • Ensuring that all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and industry standards such as those from the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Collaborating with mechanical control and other engineers to ensure the smooth integration of electrical systems with other plant components.
  • Making sure to complete assigned projects on time while adhering to project quality and budget objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong communication collaboration and client-facing professionalism.

Qualifications

Bring your passion heres whats needed:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (power systems focus); M.S. is preferred. Working knowledge of mechanical/controls aspects of turbines and RICE gensets is a plus
  • 10 years of electrical design/consulting experience for gas turbine/cogeneration and/or reciprocating engine power plants.
  • 10 years with electrical systems in power generation or industrial facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with major OEMs (e.g. GE Siemens Mitsubishi Solar Turbines; Wrtsil Caterpillar MAN).
  • Familiarity with simple-cycle combined-cycle CHP and reciprocating engine configurations.
