Modification Mechanic F&H B

Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Modification Mechanic F&H B to join our team in Everett WA.

Position Responsibilities:

• Determine work assignment based on schedule or direction from supervisor. Review paperwork and drawings to determine work to be accomplished
• Assist in locating work area using drawings IP (Installation Plan) OSIP (Out of Sequence Installation Plan) NCO (Non-Conformance Order) or other paperwork that specifies airplane number section number and three-point location
• Obtain and verify pre-picked detail parts (kits) standards and assemblies were issued correctly by comparing part numbers and quantities to W/O IP and/or BOM (Bill of Material) on drawing(s). Ensure that parts issued are effective for the airplane and are free of visible defects
• Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. tiger and snorkel lifts) as required to locate parts/assemblies into position or to perform assembly work
• Use precision measurement tools (e.g. micrometer calipers) to measure dimensions per drawing sketches and engineer requirements
• Incorporate changes to aircraft to reconfigure to customer requirements. Install or rework interior and/or exterior components to engineering specifications
• Check own work as well as others as requested after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawing that there are no defects and that area around job is clean prior to putting up for inspection
• Submit completed job or in-process checks as required to inspector at appropriate steps in sequence. Perform rework as required (e.g. pick-ups special repairs)
• Consult with management and/or others (e.g. engineering planning inspection or customer) on process/schedules or job-related issues as required
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner (e.g. lubricants primer)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 1 years of experience as a machinist mechanic or other mechanical aptitudes
• 1 years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting disassembly and repair
• Experience reading and interpreting system prints and schematics

• This is a union-represented position
• This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM 751) Collective Bargaining Agreement
• The selected candidate must be able to work any shift as assigned.
• New Hires as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of sixty (60) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.
