Job Description

Headquartered in Atlanta Georgia and founded in 1993 Precision Aviation Group (PAG) is a leading provider of maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) and value-added supply chain services to the aerospace and defense industries. JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr Controller to play a key role in our accounting operations for the Engines division. This position is responsible for overseeing All accounting and FP&A activities for the Engines division consisting of several PAG business units ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will lead accounting and FP&A operations for all divisions within the engines group including month-end and year-end close processes conduct financial reviews and drive continuous improvements in accounting policies and procedures. This role requires strong leadership analytical skills and the ability to optimize financial processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marginal Job Functions:

Complete ownership and accountability to accounting within the engines division.

  • Manage staff across multiple business locations.
  • Be the main point of contact for audits (internal and external) ensuring strong compliance with GAAP.
  • Special focus on revenue recognition and inventory control detailed understanding and management of how revenue is recognized and complexities of POC accounting and rigorous management of inventory working alongside senior management to build and maintain control over inventory and valuation.
  • Lead and support the Month-end Close process and accounting responsibilities.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations journal entries payroll and adjustments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of PAGs financial statements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all relevant federal state and local regulations.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls account policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Documenting financial processes
  • Perform technical accounting research and provide technical guidance by documenting memos as needed.

Support VP of FP&A and site leadership for engines division on subjects such as:

  • Preparation and development of various monthly and annual reports
  • Provide support and respond to information requests from the sites operational team senior management and other departments.
  • Provide Ad Hoc reporting as required
  • Support budgeting and forecasting exercises.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy; ability to read write and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; multi-tasking a necessity; thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to type with accuracy and speed; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.

Education/Training: Masters and CPA preferred

Experience:

  • 10 years of accounting experience
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to coach mentor and lead accounting teams with all levels of experience.

Certificates/Licenses: CPA preferred

Other: Other duties may be assigned in the role of supporting other departments personnel or projects.
