Job Description
The Quality Assurance Analysts role is to ensure the health of a system prior to production by performing thorough test planning test documentation test execution defect management and reporting of test status. The QA Analyst will also perform Tier 3 Support duties using technical acumen to troubleshoot production issues escalated from Tier 2 Support or the Relationship Managers.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance
- Become a subject matter expert on assigned applications.
- Participate in the testing effort including functional systems integration user acceptance performance network bandwidth browser disaster recovery help documentation and security.
- Participate in requirements and technical design reviews to ensure clarity of the design and usability.
- Write detailed test plans which satisfy both internal and external audiences.
- Develop test specifications based on an analysis of the requirements use cases and technical design.
- Ensure coverage of the requirements through traceability.
- Conduct internal and external quality reviews of test specifications.
- Create and maintain test data for initiatives.
- Execute assigned test specifications and document test results.
- Design and execute load/performance tests including benchmarking.
- Keep up with OS beta and alpha release dates and validate application functionality.
- Provide time estimate of testing efforts based on requirements.
- Test and confirm releases to client facing environments.
- Manage the lifecycle of a defect and participate in defect triage meetings.
- Provide assistance to others that are assigned to investigate defects.
- Identify defect trends and recommend process improvements
Education Experience and Skills Required:
- Ability to multi-task and quickly switch gears
- Highly detail oriented
- Combination of business acumen and technical skills
- Tier Support experience
- Technical skills: Experience with text editors/log viewing tools
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting multiple mobility solutions clients
- Development background/training a plusExperience with SQL
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience with automated testing
- 5 years of previous experience in Quality Assurance
- Experience with Jira
