We are seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to lead field and office survey teams on civil and transportation projects. This senior-level role oversees multiple crews ensures QA/QC compliance manages project budgets and schedules and strengthens client relationships. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews and office survey technicians.
- Manage budgets schedules and client expectations for DOT and municipal projects.
- Ensure QA/QC compliance across all survey operations.
- Coordinate with VDOT and local municipalities on roadway and utility corridor surveys.
- Support business development efforts through proposals client relationship building and project leadership.
- Mentor and coach staff through performance planning one-on-one sessions and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Surveyor (PLS) or eligibility to sit for the exam within six months (exam fees covered).
- Minimum 12 years of survey experience including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with DOT and municipal projects.
- Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local survey regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors in surveying or civil technology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Expertise in subsurface utility locating/designating.
- Experience with LiDAR aerial mapping or sUAS operations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $85000 - $145000 based on licensure and leadership experience.
