We are seeking an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to lead survey operations for civil and transportation projects. This senior-level role combines technical expertise leadership and client management. You will supervise multiple field crews ensure project quality and drive business development in a dynamic collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews and office technicians.
- Ensure QA/QC compliance manage project budgets schedules and client expectations.
- Coordinate with VDOT and local municipalities on roadway and utility corridor surveys.
- Support regional business growth through proposal development and client relationship management.
- Mentor and coach staff with one-on-one sessions performance planning and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or eligibility to sit for the exam within six months (exam fees covered).
- 12 years of surveying experience including 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with DOT and municipal projects.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local survey regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelors degree in surveying or civil technology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Subsurface utility locating/designating expertise.
- Experience with LiDAR aerial mapping or sUAS operations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $85000 $145000 commensurate with experience and licensure.
