Job Summary

Locum Cardiac Anesthesiologist Opportunity in Mason City Iowa

Join our dynamic healthcare team at a leading medical center in Mason City Iowa. We are seeking a Locum Cardiac Anesthesiologist to contribute to our growing hospital cardiac surgery program. This facility is a Trauma Level II center which provides a supportive environment for both patients and medical professionals. The practice is hospital-based and offers a mix of cardiac and general anesthesiology cases.

Job Responsibilities:

Administer anesthesia for cardiac and general surgical procedures.
Supervise and mentor CRNA students in the operating room.
Provide care for patients across all age demographics from adolescents to geriatrics while ensuring safety and comfort.
Handle emergency cases and assist in general anesthesia when cardiac surgeries are not scheduled.
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner transitioning to EPIC.
Collaborate with a team of 6 anesthesiologists to provide quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology (preferred; Board Eligible considered).
Active Iowa license or IMLC is required.
TEE Certification: must be able to read interpret and bill TEE procedures.
Extensive experience accepted if TEE certified with a cardiac fellowship preferred.
BLS ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
COVID vaccinated status is mandatory.
Availability for specified coverage dates is essential.
Clean malpractice and background history.

License and Certification Requirements:

Board Certification in Cardiac Anesthesiology (preferred).
Active Iowa license or IMLC (must upload copy of LOQ).
TEE Certification (interpretation and billing required).
BLS ACLS PALS certifications required.
COVID Vaccination status is required.
