Trainee Paralegal Private Client

A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Trainee Paralegal to join their Private Client Department.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual with a genuine interest in Private Client work supported by either relevant knowledge or experience in this area. Strong research skills are essential.
The successful candidate will be confident proactive and well-organised with responsibilities covering a variety of matters such as:
- Drafting Wills
- Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney including registration of EPAs and LPAs
- File opening and administrative support
- Estate administration including property visits
- Trust administration (desirable)
- Handling initial client enquiries
- Managing file closures
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance) will be required for occasional travel.
You will also work closely with the Marketing Team to help promote the firms reputation and services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide an ongoing high-quality service to existing clients
- Work with senior colleagues to help develop new business opportunities
- Support growth of the Private Client Department and encourage cross-referrals between departments
- Achieve fee income in line with agreed targets
- Stay up to date with legal developments in relevant practice areas
- Maintain accurate time records and comply with billing procedures
- Ensure work meets quality and risk management standards
- Manage and update records in the wills and deeds store
Person Specification
Essential
- Fully IT literate with strong word processing skills
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Previous experience in a legal environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional telephone manner
- Proactive and adaptable approach

- Legal qualification
- Experience using SOS Connect
- Previous Private Client or trust administration experience
