Job Description

The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K-8 elementary schools the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program and Lake Region Union High Community School is a rural school with about 80 students enrolled in fifth through eighth grade. We have a beautiful 50 acre campus that includes mountain biking trails with a pump track a beaver pond for observations and XC ski trails in the winter. Teachers enjoy using the land to enhance student learning. Our vision is We strive to provide an environment where students will develop to their fullest. We live this by creating meaningful learning opportunities on our school grounds and in the position supports students medical needs during the school day. It includes addressing students injuries with bandaids and ice packs as well as when they are sick. This position also helps support students with disabilities medical needs. Communication skills are important as you will need to keep parents informed about their childs health. This position is 40 hours a week Central Supervisory Union is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom which is known for scenic and rugged area of hills sugarbushes farmland and lakes. While our communities are small they are truly that a community that people are proud to be a part of. While we are rural scenic drives will land you at Burke Mountain Craftsbury Outdoor Center and Jay Peak for skiing opportunities mountain biking at Kingdom Trails fishing at the local lakes and other outdoor activities. Our area is known for its sugar houses which features Sugar on Snow in early spring offering enjoyment for all ages. Our mission is to provide an environment that celebrates diversity and creativity promotes inclusion and integrity and partners with parents and community members to give students access to a 21st century RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide direct care to students as student-specific problems and changes in conditions; report to principal or district safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective school/district procedures related to therapeutic equipment and in student care conferences and/or IEP meetings as in-service and professional development events as identified by /School Nurse/School the care and treatment provided to students and the students responses to care students in toileting and accurately records take student vital signs and record them as parents/guardians of accident or illness and secure medical care for students in emergency cases (if parents or emergency contact cannot be reached).Communicate regularly with the principal school nurse leader school counselor teachers parents etc. regarding health service :High School diplomaFirst Aid and CPR certifiedREPORTS TO: Principal School NurseFor a salary range please visit page 11 of the CBA. our website or more information about our schools.
