Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and bilingual Import & Export Specialist to manage and optimize trade operations between Mexico and China. This role requires strong knowledge of customs regulations logistics coordination and effective communication with both Chinese suppliers and Mexican authorities.
What will you do:
- Oversee full-cycle import/export operations between China and Mexico.
- Communicate fluently in Mandarin with Chinese factories agents and logistics providers.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican customs laws including SAT NOMs COFEPRIS and SAGARPA requirements.
- Prepare and review trade documentation: commercial invoices packing lists BLs certificates of origin etc.
- Coordinate with customs brokers freight forwarders and third-party logistics partners.
- Track and manage shipment timelines duties and tariffs (e.g. IVA DTA).
- Negotiate purchase terms and logistics contracts with Chinese counterparts.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in trade agreements (e.g. USMCA/T-MEC) and
- tariffs impacting China-Mexico trade.
What makes you a good fit:
- Bachelors degree in International Business Logistics Trade or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Mexico-China import/export operations.
- Fluent in Mandarin and Spanish (spoken and written).
- In-depth understanding of Mexican customs procedures import permits and tax structures.
- Familiarity with Ventana nica de Comercio Exterior Mexicana (VUCEM) and SAT systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and timelines under pressure.
