Job Description
This job description outlines the requirements for a Certified Operating Room Technician. The role involves providing surgical support in a variety of surgical specialties within an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include scrubbing preparing surgical instruments and equipment and assisting the surgical team. On-call responsibilities and floating to sister facilities are required. A minimum of two years of experience is required.
- Scrubbing in for surgical procedures.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile field.
- Managing surgical instruments and supplies.
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
- Adhering to all safety protocols.
- Responding to on-call requests within 30 minutes.
- Floating to outpatient surgery pavilion and other sister facilities as needed.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a surgical technician.
- BLS certification.
- Scrubbing experience in inpatient setting.
- Experience with general ortho urology endo/laparoscopic vascular gyn cases (including hysterectomies and C-sections).
- SPD experience.
- Outpatient surgical experience.
- Floating to sister facilities including the outpatient surgery pavilion is required.
- The facility is an acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds.
- RNs wear navy blue scrubs; L&D/OR scrubs provided.
- Charting is done using EPIC.
- Free parking is available.
- RTO (return to office) must be included at time of submission.
- 50-mile radius for local rate.
- Shift times vary including on-call hours and are detailed in the provided schedule.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Weekend and holiday on-call shifts are required.
