Job Description
This job description outlines the requirements for a Certified Operating Room Technician. The role involves providing surgical support in a variety of surgical specialties within an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include scrubbing preparing surgical instruments and equipment and assisting the surgical team. On-call responsibilities and floating to sister facilities are required.
- Scrubbing in for surgical procedures.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile field.
- Managing surgical instruments and supplies.
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Responding to on-call requests within 30 minutes.
- Floating to outpatient surgery pavilion as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technician in an inpatient setting.
- Experience in general orthopedic urology gynecological and endoscopic procedures.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in sterile processing department (SPD).
- Outpatient surgical experience.
- Floating to sister facilities (including the outpatient surgery pavilion) is required.
- Must be able to work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
- RTO (return to office) is required.
- 50-mile radius for local rate.
- Shift times vary including days evenings nights weekends and holidays. Specific shift times are provided in the input but are not easily summarized. Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- On-call responsibilities are included in the schedule.
