Role: Lead Data Engineering Manager
Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone)
Domain: Healthcare Payer
Work Split: 60% Technical / 40% Product Management
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineering Manager with deep expertise in the healthcare payer domain to drive innovative cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills (Python Spark SQL Big Data on AWS) with hands-on product management experience enabling them to bridge business needs with data engineering execution.
This individual will lead cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-impact products that improve patient outcomes streamline payer/provider workflows and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
MUST-HAVE:
Healthcare payer domain expertise
Product management background in healthcare
Strong technical skills (Python Spark SQL Big Data on AWS)
Own define and prioritize the product backlog based on business and user needs.
Provide technical leadership in Big Data handling on cloud (Python Spark SQL AWS).
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define product features.
Lead Agile ceremonies (planning grooming retrospectives) to ensure delivery of product increments.
Ensure solutions align with healthcare regulatory standards (HIPAA HL7 FHIR).
Partner with development QA and UX teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
Monitor product performance analyze data and iterate based on feedback.
10 years of IT experience including 4 years as a Data Product Lead or Manager.
Strong healthcare payer domain knowledge (payer platforms claims EHR/EMR provider workflows etc.).
Hands-on expertise in:
Python Spark SQL
Big Data on AWS (e.g. EMR Glue Redshift S3 Lambda)
Proven product management experience within healthcare data environments.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and prioritization skills.
