As aClinicalPathologist the majority of your duties involve but are not limited to providing clients withdiagnostic evaluationin the area ofclinical pathologyand providing necessary follow-up consultation. A high level of importance is placed on quality timeliness customer service effective verbal written and interpersonalcommunication skills.

In This Role:

• You are responsible for gross and/ormicroscopicexamination ofclinical pathologyspecimens and preparation ofpathologyreportsin a timely manner.
• You will meet caseload and turnaround expectations.
• You are responsible for providing telephoneand email consultationsto clients.
• You consult with and assist other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality.
• You will partner with advise and assist laboratory personnel in properspecimen processingtechniques and function as the pathologist on duty.
• You promote the growth of IDEXX by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professionalrelationships/contactwith clients.
• You participate in thequality controlprograms.
• You maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regularcontinuing education.
• Time may be provided off routine diagnostic responsibilities to allow the pathologist to engage in other professional activities as approved bymanagement. Such activities should improve the function or professional reputation of IDEXX.
  

What You Will Need to Succeed:

• You are a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent.
  Pathology Board Certified - American College ofVeterinary Pathologists(ACVP) or European College of VeterinaryClinical Pathology(ECVCP) preferred. MMedVet(CLD) also considered.
  Applications from board-eligible pathologists are also encouraged. The candidate will be supported when studying for boards.
• You arefluent in English
• You are familiar with current topics and issues inclinicalveterinary medicine.
• You are able to type and use dictation equipment.
• You have excellent verbal andcommunication skills.
• You have a service-oriented attitude.
• You are able to organize and prioritize work.
• Computerskills are required.
• Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
• You are located in South Africa
