Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Psychological Health Safety and Employee Wellness Specialist to join the Employee Assistance Program. Apply today to join our team!

As a Psychological Health Safety and Employee Wellness Specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be a key internal instructor consultant and change agent responsible for cultivating a culture of psychological health and safety and well-being for staff and medical staff as well as inclusive engagement across all levels of the organization.
  • Champion both psychological safety and employee wellness serve as an educator facilitator and strategist.
  • Report to the program manager and work within the Psychological Health and Safety (PH&S) team and in close collaboration with other People team partners and operational leadership the Specialist develops and delivers evidence-based strategies learning initiatives and change frameworks that promote resilience inclusion and psychological safety in the workplace.
  • Be central to driving organization-wide initiatives related to mental health promotion trauma-informed practices wellness program integration and the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

This work is framed within VCHs commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety Anti-Racism Equity Diversity and Inclusion and Planetary Health.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Masters Degree in Psychology Education Counselling Organizational Development Health Promotion or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Psychological Health and Safety Learning & Development or Organizational Wellness in a large complex organization including experience applying the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety and wellness program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recent related clinical professional experience considered an asset.
  • Certification or advanced training in psychological health and safety mental health health promotion organizational development coaching or trauma-informed practice would be an asset to this role.
  • Work related travel requires a valid B.C. drivers license and use of a vehicle.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and Indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Fosters collaboration and effective working relationships with partners that promote cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
  • Exceptional communication facilitation and relationship-building skills with a focus on system transformation and meaningful engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead guide and facilitate change as well as anticipated future change in service delivery and develop strategies that optimize resource to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial factors impacting personal well-being and organizational health as outlined in the Standard.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organization development theory and applications.
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills in an organization development role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership and team development.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of the position.
