Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Senior Fabrications Production Manager in Sanford this role you will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations and will be primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations supporting staff and future planning of 3rd Shift. As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team you will need to have a growth mindset promote continuous improvement and help build a defect-free culture.

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Managing staffing development and performance management programs for operations staff; managing motivating and developing management team.
• Overseeing operations activities ensuring that safety and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
• Driving improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety cost and quality control mechanisms.
• Manage the Production Engineering Purchasing Logistics and Supporting functions for the manufacturing Department.
• Ensures the compliance of all regulatory guidelines safety policies / process and operational excellence.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations in including fabrication paint and assembly; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers the environment and site.
• Manufacturing Standards Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan guide and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• Bachelors degree or 7 years in progressive manufacturing management role.
• Proven cross functional leadership.
• Extensive Project Management experience.
• An extensive knowledge of assembly processes and tools manufacturing operations and related areas.
• Strong business acumen and proven excellent decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
• Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.

The primary location for this position is Sanford NC.
