Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either Raleigh Greensboro or Charlotte!
The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and have 4-6 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.
In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential
construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results
perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.
The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to the following:
- Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance
- coordination with drilling contractors supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations logging of borings and test pits.
- Assist with lab testing assignment compilation of lab and field testing results.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification slope stability analysis earth
- retention systems shallow and deep foundation design settlement ground improvement and geologic hazard evaluation.
- Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Including Word Excel and Power Point preferred
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers supervisors clients and subcontractors
- This position will require 60% to 70% travel
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Geological or Mining Engineering or Geology.
- MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus
