Job Description: SME/Sr Developer - Snowflake and DBT with Azure
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SME with expertise in Snowflake DBT (Data Build Tool) and Azure to design implement and optimize data solutions. The SME will play a critical role in driving the development of scalable efficient and secure data architectures ensuring seamless integration and enabling advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Architecture:
o Design end-to-end data solutions leveraging Snowflake DBT and Azure services to support business requirements.
o Define architecture for scalable data pipelines data lakes and data warehouses.
o Ensure adherence to best practices for performance optimization cost efficiency and security.
Data Modeling & Engineering:
o Develop and implement efficient data models in Snowflake to support reporting analytics and advanced use cases.
o Utilize DBT to build modular testable and maintainable transformation workflows.
o Oversee ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and other relevant tools.
Integration & Collaboration:
o Integrate Snowflake with Azure services such as Azure Data Lake Synapse Logic Apps and Power BI.
o Collaborate with data engineers business analysts and other stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Governance & Compliance:
o Establish data governance frameworks including access control data lineage and data cataloging.
o Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards (GDPR CCPA etc.).
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
o Monitor and fine-tune Snowflake and DBT processes to maintain optimal performance.
o Troubleshoot issues related to data processing transformation and integration.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Expertise:
o Strong proficiency in Snowflake architecture including data sharing partitioning clustering and materialized views.
o Advanced experience with DBT for data transformations and workflow management.
o Expertise in Azure services including Azure Data Factory Azure Data Lake Azure Synapse and Azure Functions.
Data Engineering:
o Proficiency in SQL Python or other relevant programming languages.
o Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including star schema and normalization.
o Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration tools.
Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
o Ability to work in agile teams and handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Snowflake DBT or Azure Data Engineering.
Familiar with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data workflows.
