Job Description

    Job Duties:

    • Conducts bedside and group music therapy sessions that incorporate evidence-based interventions to address the comfort coping and expression of pediatric patients and their families throughout the hospital.
    • Collaborates and communicates via formal and informal means to coordinate service delivery with families and among the psychosocial team medical teams and others to prioritize caseloads and maintain a holistic perspective of each familys care. Makes necessary referrals to other team members and/or community resources.
    • Provides timely assessment planning and documentation of treatment towards a patients physical emotional communication/cognition behavioral and quality of life goals.
    • Effectively incorporates music technology and other sound media to provide support and legacy building to families of critically and/or terminally ill patients.
    • Develops therapeutic presence and relationships with families that are caring trusting reliable and beneficial. Identifies assesses and responds to individualized family needs and provides timely and effective interventions for families in crisis situations.
    • Performs job functions adhering to our Service Principles.
    • Other job functions as assigned.

    K.S.A.s:

    • Completion of a bachelors or equivalency degree in music therapy from a program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
    • Completion of a masters degree in music therapy or other mental health related field
    • MT-BC Credential (Board Certification through the Certification Board for Music Therapists)
    • Basic Life Support Certification required. Obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • Musically proficient in voice guitar piano percussion basic recording technology.

    Spanish language skills preferred.

    Bachelors Degree: Music Therapy (Required)

    Pay Range

    $22.25-$36.38 Hourly

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
